IN 1999, before “coaching” became a corporate buzzword in the Philippines, Julius Ordoñez stood before executives explaining a concept few understood. “Coaching for personal and professional development wasn’t even a thing yet,” he recalled.
Fast forward to 2025, Ordoñez is honored as Asia’s Distinguished Leader in Professional Coaching by the Asia’s Golden Icon Awards — recognizing his role in shaping the industry locally and regionally.
In 2002, he founded the International Coaching Federation (ICF) Philippines Chapter and became the country’s first ICF Master Certified Coach, later earning the ICF Advanced Certification in Team Coaching. He revived the ICF Philippines Chapter in 2008, funding early activities himself, and led the Asia Pacific Alliance of Coaches from 2015 to 2017.
Through Benchmark Consulting, Ordoñez has trained and certified leaders across industries, emphasizing that true coaching is about presence, reflection, and self-discovery — not advice-giving. His firm offers corporate and life coaching aligned with ICF ethics, integrating tools like AI responsibly.
