Jose Jerome “Jeng” Pascual III is a seasoned C-suite executive and leader whose rich background in finance, audit, IT, risk management, corporate governance, and strategic decision-making brings a wealth of perspectives that enhance his effectiveness as an executive coach.
In seamlessly blending a distinguished finance career with continuous learning and ethical leadership, he demonstrated the ability to inspire, mentor and empower the people around him, earning him recognition as the 2014 CFO of the Year by ING Bank and the Financial Executives Institute of the Philippines (FINEX), 2015 Professional Degree Awardee for Industrial Engineering by the University of the Philippines Alumni Engineers, and 2017 Global Management Accounting Hall of Fame Awardee by the Institute of Certified Management Accountants (Australia).
Jeng is currently the Chief Financial Officer & Treasurer of De La Salle Philippines, and Independent Director on the Board of Mitsubishi Motors Finance Philippines Inc. His prior 35-year career journey in Shell, culminating in roles such as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Risk Officer of Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation, and Finance Director of Shell Philippines Exploration, has honed deep competencies in financial management, digitalization, and organizational dynamics, and fostered a comprehensive understanding of the challenges modern executives face. These have also allowed him to effectively pursue recent executive coaching engagements at Benchmark Consulting.
His commitment to education, capital market development, and societal impact is evident in his current and past roles as trustee or independent director on the boards of the FINEX Institute, FINEX Foundation, FINEX Academy, UP Engineering Research & Development Foundation, Inc (UPERDFI), De La Salle University – Dasmariñas, La Salle Green Hills, Capital Market Development Foundation and Philippine Dealing System (PDS) Group. He also kept himself updated on technological developments and digital transformation when he chaired the Digitalization Technical Working Group of the International Association of Financial Executives Institutes (IAFEI).
He was chosen by his peers in business and industry to serve as 2020 President of the Financial Executives Institute of the Philippines (FINEX) – the country’s premiere organization of finance professionals. He also held the roles of 2021 Chairman of the FINEX Research & Development Foundation and 2022 Chairman of the FINEX Academy. His involvement as President of the Justice Reform Initiative and his role as Treasurer of the Integrity Initiative reflect his dedication to instilling ethical values in leadership. He authored articles on: “Doing Business the Right Way, Not Just Right Away” and “Integrity: Your Conscience Taking Action” in the Ethics books published by FINEX.
Adding to Jeng’s value proposition as a coach is his international exposure, having navigated roles in Shell’s Downstream and Upstream businesses across the Netherlands, Kazakhstan, Russia, and Brunei. This diverse experience and cultural sensitivity contribute to his holistic perspective on leadership and governance.
An experienced public speaker, he served as speaker/panelist/moderator in several external symposia covering topics such as: financial management/role of the CFO, transformational leadership, risk management, career development, individual/team performance, integrity practices, judicial reform, sustainability, energy transition, and natural gas advocacy. He was also the commencement speaker at the 2025 Commencement Exercises of De La Salle University – Dasmariñas.
He graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of the Philippines (Diliman) in 1986 and completed the Shell Group Business Leadership Program at INSEAD Singapore in 2005. He holds accreditations for: Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and Professional Industrial Engineer (PIE). He is a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Directors (FICD) and an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) accredited by the International Coaching Federation.
