Maria Victoria C. Españo is an accomplished professional with a robust background in corporate leadership and governance. Currently serving as an Independent Director at Alternergy Holdings Corporation, Maybank Philippines Inc. and Anvaya Cove Beach and Nature Club; a member of the Board of Trustees at St. Paul University Philippines, YMCA- Makati and Shareholders’ Association of the Philippines. Marivic is also a member of the Technical Panel of the Philippine Commission on Higher Education Technical Panel on Accountancy.
Marivic has demonstrated expertise in guiding corporate strategy and fostering organizational transformation. Her career highlights include a significant tenure or twelve (12) years as Chairperson & CEO of Punongbayan & Araullo, one of the leading audit and advisory firm in the Philippines and serving as governor in the board of Grant Thornton International Limited. Her extensive professional affiliations include leadership roles with the Institute of Corporate Directors, Management Association of the Philippines, and various finance and accounting associations.
Marivic is a passionate advocate for gender equality and has actively promoted the development of women in business and on corporate boards through speaking engagements and advocacy work. Maria’s educational background features prestigious programs from Oxford University, and the Wharton School and the Asian Institute of Management, underscoring her commitment to continuous learning and professional development. She is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Management Accountant (Australia), Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Directors, GRI Certified Sustainability Professional and Accredited Associate Coach of the International Coaching Federation
